About-Baker: Memories have faded a bit... Beta Tri-Hi-Y, ROTC Sponsor, and the band with Mr. Curry
After-Baker: The day after h.s. graduation my family moved to Fairbanks,Alaska where I attended the University of Alaska. While there I shot with the UA rifle team. I finally graduated from East Texas State University, now known as TexasA & M at Commerce with a B.S. in elementary education.I have a M.S. from Southern Connecticut State University. I taught 4th and 5th grade for 9 years in North Haven,CT. I married in 1971 to Richard Barry, a United States Merchant Marine Academy graduate. Richard is now a retired ship's captain. Retirement lasted 2 weeks, he's now an instructor at the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studes in Linthicum Heights, MD. He commutes home on weekends. We have 2 sons, Christopher ('78) and Kevin ('82). Christopher, a Springfield College graduate, teaches physical education to kids in grades 1-8. Kevin, Lafayette College chemistry major graduate will be attending Indiana University this fall ('05) as a graduate assistant. He hopes to have his M.S. and PhD. in 5 years! Since 1989, I have coached our local high school's rifle team. The team has been state champions for the last 5 years. The pressure is on us all to defend the title again in Feb. '06. I enjoy shooting competively with the adult team, gardening and traveling.
